I remember watching the Moon Landing on Tom and Isobel Dixon's TV in Toronto. Tom got me a job as a house painter. Alastair Gordon was with me on that 3-month trip. We took a week to hitchhike to New York and visit one of his relatives. All this time no idea that Woodstock was taking place at the same time. Alastair hitchhiked to Vancouver ! I also visited Uncle Norrie, Mina, Gwen, June -- London Ontario. We took a trip to Niagra Falls.

Jimmy and Margaret Mcdonald lived below at 17 Glasgow Street. , Glasgow. They had no children so they kinda adopted me. Bought me a kilt and took me to the Outer Hebrides when I was 12 ( for about 2 or 3 weeks) . I lived with Margaret's brother in South Uist ( where Archie Lamont lived). I joined them in scything for hay and dug the peet. And late moved to North Uist where Jimmy's brother had a 200 acre farm.

Although we never got a TV till I was 12 - this guy built one in his room. It had a screen size about 5" square and showed a green picture - tho I never saw it displaying anything other than snow.
